Locations – Bambu Indah, The Ungasan, The Spicy Coconut, and random travels in Ubud, Seminyak and Uluwatu

We decided on Bali for our campaign location before we’d even finished designing the collection, and when it came to jet-setting over to the tropical paradise it was hard to convince our photographer (my husband) to stay a little longer and make a family holiday out of it. For me, it was actually the first time I had had a holiday since.. who knows? Well, I do know, since I first got pregnant with Indi almost 5 years ago now… so, WHOA. A holiday was well and truly deserved!

I didn’t take a break after having Looshy girl and Johnny and I didn’t even take a honeymoon, so this felt like the time..  we had the best time and have realised we’re ready to embrace FAR more travel into our lives again finally! Here are some of our fave Bali digs!

EAT

Elizabeth: Lunch in Seminyak: Mama San for world class modern Thai/Chinese cuisine… But if you’re in Ubud you must visit Bambu Indah for their hospitality and incredible Indonesian whole food menu.

Isabella: The Spicy Coconut does an amazing Vegan breakfast in Seminyak, for tasty and Instagram worthy, it is my pick!

SEE

Elizabeth: Watch the sunset from a clifftop warung overlooking Uluwatu beach. Also, Sunset at Bambu Indah in Ubud was gorgeous, watching the palm tree lined ravine darken at sunset was just so romantic (especially over a margarita).

DRINK

Elizabeth: Can’t go past Mexicola for a margarita!

Isabella: Relaxing by the pool at W Retreat & Spa for a drink was bliss!

DO

Both: Get on a bike and go design-exploring, Bali is full of the most incredible artisans you’ll ever meet! This is basically how we started our label, we found little tailors and leather craftsman who would let us sit with them in their workshops and design leather bags and boots or garments with them. We’d bring drawings, or old fabric we’d hoarded and get them to make our dream bag/boot/dress… We met a man in Ubud who hand carved 100 bone feather earrings for us, he literally just sat there in his shop with his knife, listening to music and carved away!

SHOP

Both:  We love the Saya Gallery in Seminyak for homewares and visiting Aussie labels like Mister Zimi and Goddess of Babylon.
